The University of Manitoba has a full small-scale vertical farm funded by Efficiency Manitoba. We designed, installed and operated this farm while teaching a team of Biosystems Engineering students how to grow produce indoors. This farm was used to validate an in-house energy model created by Trina Semenchuk. The energy model predicts energy consumption and production for proposed vertical farm designs.
