What we did
How LGTC helped
Little Mushroom That Could is a Winnipeg gourmet mushroom business grown in a controlled-environment Nibi pod, with a plan to scale to four production pods. Little Greenhouse That Could (LGTC) helped plan and set up the operation with mushroom grower Ryan Maione, head grower Carlos Rodriguez and Nibi Environmental.
Design and build: we set up the first pod with dedicated production space, a clean packaging room and cold storage, laid out so more pods can be added without redesigning the operation.
Partnerships: we brought together the grower, the head grower and Nibi Environmental as the pod partner.
What’s next: starting with one pod lets the team prove its yields, buyers and workflow before adding capacity. The plan is to grow to four production pods stacked two high, using the same production, packaging and cold storage setup.
LGTC's founder, Trina Semenchuk, is a co-owner of Little Mushroom That Could.
