The challenge
Where the project started
Ryan wanted to bring fresh, local greens to La Salle year-round but had no prior experience running an indoor farm, and needed to choose equipment and a layout that fit a small space and budget.
What we did
How LGTC helped
La Salad is a small-scale vertical farm in La Salle, Manitoba, growing fresh leafy greens for the local community year-round. Little Greenhouse That Could (LGTC) helped grower Ryan Warrenchuk turn the idea into an operating farm. We selected the equipment, planned the layout, built the system, and provided hands-on grower training and support through startup.
Equipment selection: we compared options and selected the right growing equipment for the space, crops and budget.
Facility layout: we planned the farm layout and workflow.
Build: we built the vertical farm system.
Grower training: we provided hands-on training so the grower could run the farm independently.
Startup support: we supported operations through startup training and nutrient diagnostics.
